Snow, hail, rail strikes, floodlight failure. Not a bother to the lads.
Last week, we marvelled at the sheer doggedness of GAA players – club, county and school – to train and play through driving snow and plummeting conditions.
This week, courtesy of the London county hurlers, we see another great excuse to pack in training for the night spurned. The floodlights failed at Monday evening’s training session, threatening an early night in and a spot of Corrie, or Eastenders.
Instead, Mick Ruby, his fellow coaches and the hurlers themselves got their motors running, switched on the headlights and kept the session going.

Fair play one and all. Let’s hope the car batteries had enough juice to make it home afterward.
