Ger Brennan, after his longstanding 12-week ban made his first appearance back on the sideline.
Managing the senior Dublin footballers, last night, he oversaw Dublin's 1-24 win over Cavan in the All-Ireland second round.
In March, Brennan was banned due to an altercation with Galway's strength and conditioning coach, during the Sky Blues narrow loss to the Tribesman.
Much was made on the severity and length of the ban and recently it was raised again after an incident surrounding Donegal manager, Jim McGuinness and his own scuffle with Kerry's Diarmuid O'Connor.
GAA president, Jarlath Burns came out to defend the GAA's disciplinary panel after comparisons were made.
Burns, speaking on RTE Radio 1 a few weeks ago claimed the comparisons were "irrational."
Speaking to the media after Dublin's victory, Brennan revealed he received a phone call from the GAA supremo.
The president, apologised for his earlier comments.
The Dubs manager said: "Well look, my solicitor issued a statement last week and I don't really have a whole lot more to say on it.
"Some lovely bits of support from around the country, friends, family, the county board and the management team and what not.
“To be fair to Jarlath Burns, he did ring me last week. We had a lovely conversation on the phone – he was sincere, honest and he apologised. I accepted it and we move on.”
"We move on and concentrate on the football from here on in and then Congress 2027 is probably an opportunity to try and put [issues about the severity of the sanction] right.
"I just want to concentrate on football going forward."
