An in-depth ‘Football Manager’ game is coming to the GAA this year

This is huge!

Loophead Labs are creating a free GAA sim for Steam, with a demo coming this October, before a full release in January 2027.

The official description is as follows: "The first management sim for Gaelic football, hurling, camogie and ladies football. Take a county, name your fifteen from the parishes that produced them, and answer to a board that remembers everything. Four codes on one calendar, and a September that stops the country."

There are 36 playable counties - the 32, plus London, New York, Warwickshire and London.

Like the iconic Football Manager series, you will decide on your team's tactics and systems, with a focus on 'restarts, shape, press and tempo'.

You can watch your matches play out while making in-game changes, whether its in a January shield game, the league, provincial championships, or the round-robin phase and All-Ireland.

You can call up players from clubs into the panel, all while overcoming obstacles such as J1s in Boston, weddings, and other various challenges.

There will also be season-ending awards, sackings, offers from other counties and much more.

However, it does not make any mention of licensed players, and judging by screenshots, fake names will be used.
