He’s back from the start.
Noel McGrath is one of the most talented hurlers of the last 15 years, and the whole country was devastated in 2015 when it was revealed the Tipperary forward had been diagnosed with cancer.
The Loughmore-Castleiney man was diagnosed with testicular cancer last April, and underwent surgery shortly afterwards.
He missed most of Tipperary’s championship campaign, but remarkably did return to the field in the All-Ireland semi final against Galway, and scored a point on his re-introduction to inter-county action.
It wasn’t the winning score of course, but afterwards McGrath was spoken to memorably by Galway manager Anthony Cunningham.

McGrath has been back training with the county since before Christmas under new manager Michael Ryan, and this evening it has been confirmed that he will once walk out with a Tipp team from the off, as he’s been included at corner-forward, with younger brother John at number 15, for the weekend’s opening league clash with Dublin.
