Two years after retiring, Conal Keaney is back.
Dublin senior hurling have received a huge boost with the announcement that Conal Keaney has come out of retirement.
The 35-year-old ex-dual star initially retired from hurling in 2016 shortly after winning an All-Ireland football club title with Ballyboden St Enda’s.
With Pat Gilroy now in charge, Dublin are looking to make a serious statement in 2018. Bringing back Keaney is a signal that they are taking active measures to rediscover the form they hit earlier this decade when the county claimed Allianz League and Leinster hurling titles.
As a hurler, Keaney has an intercounty league title and a provincial title on his resume. In football, he has five Leinster titles to his name with the Dubs.

Dublin host Wexford this weekend in the semi-final of the Walsh Cup. Keaney may feature in the game, but the league opener against Offaly at the end of the month may be a more realistic return game.
