A Saudi Pro League striker was on the receiving end of a fan's furore after his side got thumped 4-1 by Al-Hilal in the Saudi Super Cup final last night.
Striker Abderrazak Hamdallah, nicknamed The Executioner for his goal-scoring ability, found himself on the wrong side of a spectator's wrath after he managed to net just one goal in response to the four his side shipped.
A man in the stand, who had somehow turned up to the final armed with a whip, dished out lashings from his seat in protest to the lacklustre display, causing a major ruckus on the terraces.
Players and officials stepped in to break up the fracas and take the player to safety, with the fan, seemingly, walking away without punishment.
Brazillian forward Malcom scored twice as Al-Hilal eased to victory to clinch the trophy in Abu Dhabi, with Jorge Jesus's team also top of the league in their bid to win the quadruple.
Al-Hilal took an early lead after Malcom slotted home following a sharp one-two with Salah Al-Shehri, only for Hamdallah to equalise from a rebound shortly after.
But Salem Al-Dawsari struck from the edge of the area as Al-Hilal moved back ahead, before Malcom notched his brace and Nasser Al-Dawsari completed the scoring.
The result sparked fan fury in the stands after Hamdallah appeared to throw water in the direction of one spectator.
It begs the question of how, and we can't emphasise this enough, can you possibly be allowed into a football match with a whip in your pocket!
