*Feigns surprise*
We all kind of knew that they were seeing each other but now we have confirmation that UFC fighters Ronda Rousey and Travis Browne are, in fact, in a relationship.
Rumours emerged last month when Browne’s ex-wife, who had made allegations of domestic abuse against the heavyweight, called out the UFC women’s bantamweight champion for seeing Browne while he was still married.
Browne has since been re-instated to the roster by the UFC after the promotion found “inconclusive evidence to support claims.”
And on Monday, Rousey released a statement via ESPN that revealed the details of her relationship.
“I don’t talk about my personal life much. That’s why it’s called ‘personal life,'” Rousey said. “It’s true that Travis and I are in a relationship. I’ve really enjoyed the time we have spent together and getting to know one another. And that’s all I’m going to say about it.”
The statement came hours after Browne told TheMMAHour’s Ariel Helwani that he was committed to Rousey.
“She’s my woman, and I’m her man,” he said. “There’s no boyfriend-girlfriend stuff. There’s no dating. We’re together.”
Browne isn’t the first UFC heavyweight that Rousey has dated as she spent some time with Brendan Schaub before the pair broke up last year and, funnily enough, Browne and Schaub actually fought at the end of 2014 which resulted in a TKO victory for Hapa.
It’s not unusual for fighters to fall in love and Browsey now joins the likes of Bryan Caraway and Miesha Tate, Evangelista “Cyborg” and Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos and Joey Villasenor and Holly Holm as epitomes of the phrase “power couple.”
