Leinster and Ireland face a nervous wait over the Tadhg Furlong decision, with the prop cited over an incident against Munster on the weekend, where he allegedly grabbed Gavin Coombes in the groin.

A statement from the URC reads: "Leinster Rugby's Tadhg Furlong has been cited for an incident that occurred in the 37th minute of the United Rugby Championship Round 4 fixture at the Aviva Stadium against Munster Rugby on Saturday, October 24.

"The Citing Commissioner in charge has made a complaint about an act of foul play by the Player (Tadhg Furlong No 3) against opponent Gavin Coombes (No 8).

"The Player has been cited under Law 9.27 – A player must not do anything that is against the spirit of good sportsmanship including but not limited to grabbing, twisting or squeezing the genitals.

"Arrangements for the disciplinary process are currently in progress and will be announced in due course."

Last season, Bulls and South Africa player, Jan Hendrik-Wessels, received a nine-week ban for grabbing the groin of Connacht's Josh Muprhy.

However, both incidents are similar in that there is footage of the players putting their hands near the groin area, but no clear evidence of a grab.

At the time, South Africa and Bulls fans were not pleased with the decision, and, unsurprisingly, they are claiming double standards, if Furlong doesn't receive a similar suspension.
