A man with an undefeated pro boxing record and now a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
So, in other words, don’t f**k with Joe Duffy.
The Donegal lightweight has earned himself a shiny accolade after being promoted to purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu by Tristar head coach Firas Zahabi.
Duffy already has a black belt in Japanese Jiu Jitsu and his first round triangle choke victory over Ivan Jorge in Glasgow proved that he’s no slouch on the mat.
Zahabi, who has trained elite fighters like Georges St-Pierre, Rory MacDonald and Miguel Torres, is a hard man to impress but it looks like Duffy’s grappling skills have done just that.

We’ll get the chance to see Duffy show off his submission expertise when he comes up against Dustin Poirier in the main event of UFC Dublin on October 24.
Congratulations Mr Duffy.
