John Cena appreciates the athleticism and effort but you won’t find him parting ways with cash for a UFC pay-per-view.
The WWE star would probably flick on by if he came by some free to air MMA too.
In a wide-ranging interview with Larry King Live, Cena explained why he prefers sports entertainment [the stuff that Brock Lesnar does] to the UFC [the stuff that Brock Lesnar did].
His reason for believing the WWE is better than anything Dana White & co. can put out there would please his employer, Vince McMahon. Cena said:
“It’s done great to establish itself as a brand, but in comparison with us, it doesn’t resonate with me just because I’m a storyteller.
“I enjoy the story that we can tell in the ring and like I said, I think we do it better than everyone.”
Lesnar has flitted between the two promotions, and CM Punk has his sights set on a UFC debut this year.

However, there is little chance of Cena taking on Jon Jones or Robbie Lawler any time soon. He continued:
“It truly has marketed itself extremely well. It has fantastic exposure. There’s no denying the athletic ability that it takes to step into the Octagon. It’s not something I could do.
“I’m not taking anything away from anyone in the UFC, because their success speaks for themselves but as far as it resonating with me, it’s just not something I’m a fan of.”
Keep working on those storylines Dana. You might get a convert yet.
