Boom! And all of a sudden there are seven fights on the card for UFC 194

Getting organised early

We were getting used to some last minute matchmaking from the UFC.

As recently as two weeks ago fights were being added to September 5th’s UFC 191 but the promotion are setting their stall out early for the biggest fight card of the year.

Jose Aldo v Conor McGregor is the stand-out fight for UFC 194 as the bitter rivals battle for the undisputed featherweight championship while Chris Weidman puts his middleweight belt on the line against arguably his toughest task to date in Luke Rockhold.

And over the past few days, Joe Silva and Sean Shelby have been up the walls compiling some sublime fights for their penultimate event of the year.

A middleweight title eliminator between Jacare Souza and Yoel Romero has been slated for December 12 and two undefeated welterweights go head to head in the clash between Warlley Alves and Colby Covington.

Márcio Alexandre Jr. takes on TUF 11 winner Court McGee at the event and John Makdessi looks to rebound from his loss to Donald Cerrone when he meets Yancy Medeiros at 155 lbs.

And most recently announced is another lightweight bout between Kevin Lee and Brazil’s Leonardo Santos.

The updated fight card now looks like this.

                    UFC 194
Jose Aldo v Conor McGregor
Chris Weidman v Luke Rockhold
Yoel Romero v Ronaldo Souza
Warlley Alves v Colby Covington
Marcio Alexandre Jr. v Court McGee
John Makdessi v Yancy Medeiros
Kevin Lee v Leonardo Santos
