Aisling Daly dissed after Dublin victory but responds commendably

All about positivity

Aisling Daly had just recorded the biggest victory of her career but it didn’t take long for her to come in for some online ridicule.

Ais the Bash looked impressive as she outworked Brazilian strawweight Ericka Almeida to a unanimous decision victory but Almeida’s fellow countrywoman Claudia Gadelha was far from bowled over.

Daly and Gadelha were scheduled to face each other at UFC Krakow earlier this year however Gadelha fell out with a back injury.

But it sounds like Gadelha is angling for that fight to be rescheduled and when Daly was asked about the comments during the post-fight press conference, the Dubliner responded by claiming that she didn’t have time for negativity in her life.

“I don’t care about you,” Daly said about Gadelha. “That would be pretty much it. Whatever she thinks or says is completely irrelevant to me. It doesn’t affect my level of happiness. I live in this world of positivity and she always has something to say.”

Daly added that she wasn’t really that bothered whether or not the UFC rebooked the fight.

“If the fight happens, it happens,” she said. “This is a sport and I’ll fight anybody. But I don’t have time to be getting into Twitter battles. I think she has too much time on her hands and I think she’s a bad of a hothead. She overreacts to things.”
