Why doesn’t this ever happen to us?
We have lost more golf balls in water and up trees that we can imagine. Hitting a ball out of bounds is that terrible sinking feeling – if you’ll pardon the pun.
So just once, just once God, we would like to get the slice of luck enjoyed by Brandt Snedeker’s during the opening round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational last night.
He was approaching the par 4 18th when his initial shot seemed to go wildly off course. It looked like he would be going in the drink when the ball hit a rock… and then another to land just few feet from the pin.
The rocks must have springs on or something because it’s actually too bizarre to believe until you see it.
In case you missed it this morning, @BrandtSnedeker got 2 of the luckiest bounces we’ve seen (on the same shot). https://t.co/K8K2kyPK7A

Unfortunately the amazingness of the shot was ruined somewhat when he only managed to par the hole, missing his initial putt.
Padraig Harrington didn’t hit anything quite as spectacular as that in his opening round but still did manage a very impressive four under and he’s two off the lead held by Morgan Hofffmann.
