Donald Trump addresses Ireland reunification comments at Irish Open

We have to agree with him on this one!

While speaking with a reporter, he said: "It's going to happen eventually..... How can it be bad?"

At the US Embassy in Dublin, he later added: "I actually said it would be, I think, a very cool thing. To be honest with you, I think it would be cool."

While his words were very popular with nationalists, it brought the ire of the UK's Reform Party and the DUP in Northern Ireland.

But Trump remained undeterred at the Irish Open in Doonbeg today, and doubled down on his comments.

He said: "I love my comments.

"You have Northern Ireland and you have Ireland and it seems to me that one of the naturals of all time would be put them together.

"That's only my opinion, many people agree. I made what I considered to be a fairly routine comment."
