Rory McIlroy put on a putting masterclass in the final match play to win the World Golf Match Play Championships.
The Down native saw off a brave challenge from Gary Woodland to claim the championship.
McIlroy secured three straight birdies to go four up against Gary Woodland after seven holes. Woodland fought back to narrow the Irishman’s lead to two after 12 holes.
Woodland missed a glorious opportunity to close the lead to one, but missed with his short putt.

McIlroy then extended the lead back to three and secured the victory, and the championship after Woodland miss-hit a bunker shot on the 16th hole.
