Rory McIlroy cut a frustrated figure at Royal Troon this weekend.
The world number four could only finish tied for fifth at the 145th Open Championship, sixteen behind the eventual winner Henrik Stenson.
McIlroy’s anger boiled over on Saturday when he snapped his three-wood in two after his second shot didn’t go as planned.

And if you ask NBC golf analyst Johnny Miller for his explanation for McIlroy’s struggles, he will point to the bulkier physique sported by the Holywood native in recent years.
McIlroy is significantly more muscular than he was when he started out and that is down to a more intense strength and conditioning regimen.
But Miller, a two-time major champion, was tremendously critical of McIlroy’s build and tight shirts this weekend.
“I think he overdid the weight room, personally,” Miller said on Sunday.

“I don’t think that helped him at all. Same thing with Tiger Woods. You just get carried away with wearing the tight shirts and showing off their, sort of, muscles.”
