We’re sorry
Let’s get one thing clear. We never ever doubted the latest Masters champion.
We just highlighted that last night in his first event since taking his first major that things were not going so well for the latest golf sensation. He shot a round of 74 at the RBC Heritage event on Thursday to take a share of 93rd position, on a day when he hit just one birdie and two bogeys as well as a double bogey to go +3 after the first round.
Not a good day all round, but Jordan certainly made us look foolish with our assertion that maybe he should have taken some time off, with a frankly unbelievable round today that saw him shoot 62 and go joint second.
The day began in some style with a birdie at the first
After a disappointing 74 yesterday, Jordan Spieth came out and birdied his first hole today. #QuickHits https://t.co/FMG8jLl1ea — PGA TOUR (@PGATOUR) April 17, 2015
He then chewed up his first nine holes in almost a repeat of the form that saw him shoot the lights out at Augusta last week
After the turn it was more of the same with shots like this
