Our chip to the 10th at Lahinch doesn’t make it-gutted
The European Tour have selected the best golf shots of the year and it’s no surprise that a magnificent effort from Rory McIlroy features.
His second to the seventh at the BMW championship at Wentworth was one of the best of all time and it makes the cut as the nominee for May.
Also among the best shots of last year is a hole-in-one for Danny Willet and a fantastic shot from Robert Rock out of the roughest rough you could imagine at the Irish Open.
Our own favourite has to be Charl Schwartzel’s amazing shot from tarmac to green at the Volvo Golf Champions event in January
