There’s something you don’t see every day on a scoreboard.
Derry are through to round 3 of the All-Ireland football qualifiers and they’ll face off with Cavan after the draw was made on Monday morning.
It took an unprecedented comeback on Saturday afternoon to get there though.
The Oak Leafers found themselves seven points down against the travelling Meath men and all hope was looking lost.

Suddenly, Owenbeg was bouncing and the county became one again as Damian Barton’s men soared to a famous three-point victory.
It all starts with a bit of grit though. It all starts with one of the finest examples of a block you’ll ever see in the game from Ballinderry’s Gareth McKinless.

And it ends with scoreboard operators completely losing the run of themselves in all the euphoria. 1-14 to 1-11 it once read.
By the end of the game, this is how it looked.
SportsJOE’s GAA Hour Football Show is here. Monday’s episode features a shout for Derry’s Mark Lynch for performance of the week, a heated debate on the Aidan O’Shea incident, and plenty of discussion on club v county.
