The Saturday hit-out in the week before an All-Ireland final is, in most cases, the last chance for players to claim a jersey for the big day.
There had been concerned murmurs out west, last week, that Evan Regan and Cillian O’Connor may not feature in it, therefore harming their chances of starting the replay. Regan and O’Connor were given a reduced training load last week as they went easy on respective head and ankle knocks.
Such fears were allayed when both men partook in that Saturday run-out and proved their fitness to Mayo boss Stephen Rochford and his coaching staff.

Forward Alan Dillon is believed to have made it on to the pitch but did not complete a full session. He injured his foot after coming off the bench in the drawn final on September 18.
Wednesday evening’s training session will be Mayo’s last full run-through before they ease up and ready themselves for a Friday morning jaunt up to Dublin.
Both counties are expected to name their starting XVs on Thursday evening. Mayo could well go for the same team that started in Croke Park nine days ago, while Dublin boss Jim Gavin has some decisions to make in midfield and attack.
