WATCH: Joe Canning and John O’Dwyer produce pure magic at the very end of thrilling battle

Conan Doherty

Sport at its best.

Men at their finest.

Joe Canning and John O’Dwyer had the GAA world on their feet on Sunday afternoon with the most climatic endings to arguably the best game of the year so far.

Galway and Tipperary shared the spoils in Salthill after a ding-dong battle that included a spectacular individual goal from Canning, and a complete clanger from Darren Gleeson too.

When it came down to it though, with seconds on the clock, neither side would bow their heads and Canning and O’Dwyer, playing above themselves, led the charge of two unrelenting teams.

Canning thought he had won it for Galway when his stunning sideline brought his personal tally to 1-11 for the day.

Then Bubbles O’Dwyer weaved his own magic at the other end to end the game 2-19 to 1-22. Absolutely breathtaking.

Check out the last minute drama.

Here’s the round-up of the rest of Sunday’s results.
