Video: Derry man’s outrageous hurdle jump could be the biggest one we’ll see this year

Can you beat this?

Who says weights slow you down?

We thought the lads at EFP Gyms in Belfast were just getting other people to do their dirty work for them like when they made poor, old Carl Frampton complete the monkey bar challenge twice over before Christmas.

As it turns out though, they’re pretty decent at this stuff themselves.

Declan Mullan won’t just go down as the first player in the GAA to receive a black card when he did so with Derry in December 2013, he won’t go down as an All-Ireland minor finalist, as a county champion with Coleraine or even as one of the pioneers of EFP Gyms – oh no, he’ll go down in history as the hurdle jump king.

The former UUJ student scales 55 inches (fifty five inches) with this ridiculous effort and his landing is a gym instructor’s dream. It doesn’t do their business any harm that they’re able to pull off feats like this with their training.

The bar has been set. Literally.
