Some games survived.
Galway showed that it hasn’t been luck, it hasn’t been fortune that has put them at the very top of the Allianz League Division One table.
Kevin Walsh’s men have come in for plenty of criticism for their rigid, defensive style but with the League group stages now one game from completion, they’re unbeaten and any of the teams below them looking up would love to be where they are now, preparing for a League final and flying high.
Sunday was supposed to be the day that Galway were found out. Dublin had swept all before them so far, and apparently Galway’s style is the type of one Dublin eat up without salt.
Well, with only minutes left to go, the Tribesmen were leading Dublin by two points and looked to have this one sealed. Dublin, being the champions that they are, fought back, and despite playing with a weakened team, with the game deep in injury time, they led by one.
Galway showed their steel with a late Johnny Heaney effort levelling it up.
