TWEET: The tension at the Munster minor semi-final was almost too much for one Kerry fan

Hope they don't get drug tested for that now

Packet and all

Kerry and Cork is one of the greatest rivalries in Irish sport, and last night’s Munster minor football semi final in Tralee was another classic to add to the list of great clashes between the neighbours.

Cork were hoping to knock the reigning Munster and All-Ireland holders out of the championship last night with no back door for the losing side.

And with such high stakes on the line the game was an absolute belter as the lead changed hands several times during the match with nothing to separate the sides after 60 minutes as the game ended 0-11 each.

There was no let up in the drama and tension in Tralee in the additional period either, as Kerry took an early advantage and led by three points, until a late Daniel Ó’Duinnin goal looked like it would set the game up for a replay on Leeside.

But up stepped Spa’s Mike Foley with the defender scoring a last gasp point to break Cork hearts and set up a Munster final date with Tipperary in July for the teenagers with a 0-16 to 1-12 win.

It almost proved too much for this Kerry football supporter for Paul Galvin’s home club of Finuge,

A number of Kerry seniors also passed on their best wishes to the Kingdom’s future stars
