You know what they say: if you can’t train, build a GAA snowman instead.
The weather is just beginning to play havoc with sportspeople in this part of the world and, do you know what, Gaelic Football and hurling has never looked so beautiful.
Cork and Waterford already played out one of the most picturesque battles we’ve seen in a long time this week and, in Fermanagh, Stephen Ingram captured this stunning aerial shot of the snow-covered Ederney and the St. Joseph’s GAA grounds.
You think it’s just Ireland that’s feeling it? Pah!
Go as far as Texas and you’ll still find the same whinges of GAA men and women not ready to leave the fire-side and brave the elements for pre-season training.
Maybe I'm just allergic to cold weather. #GAA #GaelicFootball #DallasWeather #BackToPractice #BeatAustin pic.twitter.com/UI339vyt8t

Of course, some people just don’t give a f**k and make the most of a Rocky IV training montage opportunity while they can.
@SportsJOEdotie @JOEdotie Great weather for mountain running in the Galtees this week https://t.co/OahRxtT0qI pic.twitter.com/U5qwMCMfHl

But if you go up to Scotland, the Strathclyde University ladies have been training a little differently. Sunday Gaelic Football took a bit of a turn somewhere between warming up and making a snowman and giving him gloves and boots.
And, really, what snowman is complete without a Mitre bib?
Productive nonetheless.
Thanks to Maria Lyttle for sending this our way. If you’re training – or building snowmen – in that weather, share your pictures with us on Facebook or Twitter or send us an email at editorial@SportsJOE.ie.
