The clash of two Munster rivals is the pick of the latest round of the GAA qualifiers

Let's get it on

Davy V JBM once again

Next week is the Munster hurling final between Tipperary and Waterford, but on Saturday night we’ll almost have a mini-provincial final with nearly as much at stake after this morning’s hurling qualifier draw.

With four sides in the bowl, and the proviso that Clare and Limerick could not meet again, Dublin were the first side out with Ger Cunningham’s team set to have home advantage for the game next week.

However when Cork were drawn out next, it meant that the Rebels had to go back in and another side had to be drawn out, with Limerick getting the opportunity to take on the capital’s finest hurlers.

For those of you not good at maths that meant that Cork and Clare was the next pairing out, and we could look forward to yet another clash of the provincial rivals who met so memorably in the All-Ireland finals of 2013 and last year’s Munster championship.

Dublin V Limerick

Cork v Clare

Lorcan McLoughlin and John Conlon 14/4/2013

The next round of the football qualifiers meanwhile sees John Evans continue his bid to get Roscommon to the All-Ireland Final.

His Connacht side have been paired with Fermanagh and the Ulster outfit enjoying home advantage next weekend while the other game will see Kildare look to continue their renaissance by taking on Longford.
