Sad news for GAA fans this weekend.

RTE have confirmed that broadcaster Michael Lyster has been taken to hospital with an unspecified illness.

The 60-year-old is receiving treatment and will therefore not be presenting on RTE 2’s the Sunday Game this weekend.

Galway native Lyster had a major health scare in 2012, when he suffered heart failure at the end of the championship season.

His family have requested privacy at this time.
