Devastating news for the Ulster champions
Slaughtneil’s joy at winning their place in the AIB GAA Club Championship All-Ireland club football final next month has come at a severe cost, with the news that centre-forward Christopher Bradley will miss the game through injury.
The attacker felt the full force of a Kieran Donaghy shoulder at the very end of the game as Austin Stacks chased an equaliser. The Tralee side won a free after Bradley was deemed to have fouled the ball, but Shane Carroll missed the resulting kick to see the Derry champions edge their opponents by a single point.
Bradley was removed from the field in visible pain and reports today suggest he will not be available for the March 17 showdown with Corofin due to a suspected broken collarbone.
Donaghy ploughed into the Derry player fairly, but the sheer power and impact left Bradley in a crumpled heap, and he will be a major loss to the Ulster side as they bid for a first ever AIB-GAA All-Ireland club title next month.
