From the round to the oval ball
Robbie Henshaw proved the hero for Ireland on Sunday as we beat England in the Six Nations to keep our dreams of another championship title and-just whisper it-a Grand Slam as well.
The Athlone native is the heir apparent to Brian O’Driscoll in the centre and he showed another glimpse of his incredible talent on Sunday as he snatched a great kick from Conor Murray to touch down for the game’s crucial try, setting us on our way to the win.
Afterwards Henshaw praised his upbringing with Gaelic Football for his ability to wrest the ball from the grasp of England’s full back Alex Goode.
‘I thought I had a good chance to just use my Gaelic football skills in the air and claim the ball and just got it down in the end.’
And now we’ve found some proof of his ability under a dropping ball in his days with his local GAA club in Athlone. Check out that leap.
