The Toughest winner will come from Galway or Wexford
Oulart the Ballagh’s men’s sides have suffered huge disappointment over the last number of years, but their camogie teams keep on winning. The women from the south-east impressed once again today in a one-sided win over Loughgiel of Antrim by 1-15 to 0-8 in the All-Ireland club camogie semi-final in Inniskeen in Monaghan.
The Ulster champions came into the game off the back of a historic season but they were no match for the power and precision of the Wexford champions. Ursula Jacob scored six points alone in the first half as Loughgiel struggled in almost every area of the field, trailing at the break by 1-14 to 0-3, Diane Ryan with the goal just before half-time.
The Antrim side did get the first score of the second half, but with Oulart taking their foot off the pedal the game petered out to an inevitable conclusion with just six more scores coming after the break as it ended 1-15 to 0-8. Ulster player of the year Raquel McCarry shone brightest for the Antrim side, scoring six points from placed balls during the course of the hour.
Oulart will now face Mullagh of Galway in the AIB Club Championship senior camogie final on March 1st in Croke Park.
