New Donegal jersey is a little throwback

Conan Doherty

It’s not quite 1992 but it’s a lot closer to it than we’ve been in a while.

Donegal’s pure gold body is back and so too are their green sleeves at the side of that infamous kit which was the design for most of their 90s exploits.

After teasing fans for far too many tweets, the folk from the hills finally released the 2018 product which was worth the wait in fairness.

But, Christ, we had to wait.

So good, in fact, they had to tweet the preview to it five different times.

In the end, thanks to O’Neills, the Gaelic public got to see the new geansaí in all its majesty with Michael Murphy’s broad shoulders modelling it.

Donegal have two sponsors appearing on their kit for the new season ahead but, as much as locals might still bemoan the size of the logo at the front, they don’t take away too much from the finished article.

In fairness though, the 2017 one was good as it was.
