Surely something has to be done.
Westmeath GAA has been hit with another drama and this time it seems pretty unnecessary.
The county board had a pop at some of its senior panelists for climbing into Cusack Park without paying for games but they have their own questions to answer themselves.
Two of the Lake County’s clubs Clonkill and Raharney have written to the board and asked for a postponement of their minor hurling championship final on Sunday which is scheduled to take place immediately before the senior hurling championship final.
The same clubs will meet in the senior final but, with members of their U18 teams featuring for the mens’ outfits – on both sides – Clonkill and Raharney issued a joint letter to the board and asked that they postpone the minor game because “we believe that is totally unfair to ask Minor Hurlers to play 120 minutes, across two matches in succession on the one day”.
To date, the county board has refused to postpone the game.
