We knew there would be fireworks in the rematch of the 2025 All-Ireland final and 2026 NFL final between Kerry and Donegal.
Throughout the first half there were fiery moments from both sides. However, around the half-time interval, right after a challenge from David Clifford on Peadar Mogan, it kicked off.
All players were involved and soon their coaching staff followed suit. After Micheal Burns strike on Ryan McHugh which subsequently led to a red card after halt-time, the Donegal bench was incensed.
GAA+ footage caught the Donegal manager, Jim McGuinness, get into a confrontation with Diarmuid O'Connor, which will likely be reviewed by the GAA's disciplinary chiefs on Monday.
On GAA+ Armagh Legend, Stefan Campbell explained the potential connotations of McGuinness' outburst of emotion: "This is probably the worrying one for me. We’ve seen Ger Brennan probably getting suspended for less.
"Obviously it’s been threatening to boil over from the first whistle.
"I thought that was a complete over-reaction from the Donegal players in terms of David’s shoulder….That could be worrying times for Jim McGuinness.
"The Donegal players looked like they were going into that changing room to cause a bit of damage there too the way they were sprinting off the field here."
Dublin manager, Ger Brennan, was issued a 12-week ban for his altercation with Galway Strength and Conditioning coach Cian McGinn and Dublin fans will not be happy if McGuinness gets off lightly.
One Dublin supporter said: "Going to be tough for Donegal to win an All-Ireland once McGuinness gets that 12-week ban..."
Another said: "Will McGuinness get a 12 week ban for putting his hands on a player or?"
After the game, Jim McGuinness was not pleased when questioned by Off The Ball's Tommy Rooney about the incident.
The exchange - which can be seen from a video from the Examiner's Maurice Brosnan - was as follows:
Rooney: "We saw Ger Brennan getting a ban for being involved... are you worried about a ban."
McGuinness: "Are you trying to get me banned?"
Rooney: "Well it's televised it's on GAA+, it's on air."
McGuinness: "So you're flying that kite there?"
Rooney: "No it's a pretty straight forward question."
McGuinness: "No it's not really, not at all."
Rooney: "It would be hard not to talk about it"
McGuinness: "Well you're not talking about the incident, you're finger pointing me out of the 50 people is that what you're saying."
Rooney: "There's a very clear rule that Ger Brennan got banned for."
McGuinness: "Well that's good enough you've done your job."

He was loud about it! Tyrone’s legendary All-Ireland winning manager, Mickey Harte, has long been banging the anti-AFL drum.
