Mark Sheedy saved three penalties and scored one as Clare won their fifth Munster U20's hurling title in a drama filled penalty shootout.
The Banner man ended the 12 year wait for Clare's elusive U20 Munster title and stopped Tipperary from winning the title three years on the bounce - while producing arguably the greatest save of all time.
The keeper saved efforts from Oisin O'Donoghue and Cormac Fitzpatrick to take a 3-1 lead before Tipperary's Paddy McCormack denied Sean Arthur and Ronan Kilroy's winning attempts.
Shootouts always have defining moments and this one came when Stefan Tobin stepped up to take his 2nd penalty and in front of 6,442 fans - Mark Sheedy pulled off an incredible stop. (You can watch the save below).
Hurling fans have taken to social media to praise the young keeper's phenomenal stop.
One user said: "Unbelievable from Mark Sheedy in the shoot-out, saves out of the top drawer as Clare seal their place in the All-Ireland Under-20H C'ship Final, epic Provincial decider which had everything."
"Outrageous save from Mark Sheedy to win the Munster U20 hurling Championship. Up the Banner." Said another user on X.
"Tobin turns away thinking it can’t be stopped after connecting right on the money - a rocket of a shot going exactly where he wanted it to!
Just an incredible full length save from Mark Sheedy, an extraordinary piece of individual brilliance." Said an X user.
Clare now advance to the All-Ireland final against either Galway or Kilkenny - can Sheedy produce more heroics for his county?
