Marc O Sé’s absence from Kerry’s starting team could bring an end to a 43-year GAA tradition

Eamonn Fitzmaurice doesn’t strike us as man who gives one damn about tradition.

And he certainly will not let anything stand in his way of winning the 38th All-Ireland senior football title for Kerry this weekend.

The Kingdom boss has made three changes to his starting 15 with Marc O Sé, Paul Murphy and Kieran Donaghy all dropped for Sunday’s showdown with Dublin.

O Sé was hoping to start his 10th all-Ireland final but  is understood to be suffering with a hamstring injury.

If he does not feature on Sunday in the starting team, it will be the first time since 1972 that an O Sé has not started an All-Ireland final for the Kingdom.

Incredible, and especially when it’s thirty years since Paidi O Sé gave this amazing speech after beating Dublin in 1985.
