Tipperary didn’t come to Croke Park to play out the final chapter of some sort of romantic fairytale that’s been written and read before.
Conor Sweeney didn’t go to Croke Park to make up numbers.
They came to Dublin to win. And, even when winning was secured, they wanted to ram it down every one of their doubters’ throats.

You could tell that this was more than a magical run or a summer fling during the second half when Conor Sweeney – already with 2-2 to his name – was giving off stink in the full forward line for the ball not being played into him.
He roared over to his manager and scowled: “Tell him to give me the f**king ball!”

Sweeney is a winner. So too is Acheson. It’s a team of winners that are upsetting the odds because the odds are wrong.
They’ve beaten Cork, Derry, and Galway now. They’re a serious side that deserves respect. And, as Paul Galvin put it on this week’s podcast, they’re a team that Kerry were always wary of.
