Hey, RTÉ! 2012 called and they want their token hurling report back.

We’ve all made mistakes. Even Joe Brolly.

But, as gaffes go, RTÉ’s blunder on Thursday evening caused a lot of fury and hurt, particularly amongst the hurling community.

As Kerry prepare for their historic Leinster championship clash with Carlow on Sunday, RTÉ’s report on the Six One News was telling a completely different story.

Limerick legend Ciaran Carey leads the Kingdom into the All-Ireland senior hurling championship this weekend after the county won the Christy Ring last year but, according to the news report that aired this week, John Meyler was still in charge and they were preparing for the Christy Ring final.

And, naturally, they aired their grievances.
