Ger Brennan dominated headlines after Dublin's relegation-sealing loss to Galway on Sunday.
The Dubs boss got into a physical altercation with Galway's S&C coach Cian Breathnach McGinn, with both men sent to the stands by referee Fergal Kelly.
Brennan acknowledged the decision after the game and said: "Yeah look, myself and the Galway mentor, small coming together and silly stuff from us, and Fergal (Kelly) was correct to give us both a red card. We shouldn’t be doing that.
“Hugh just made a great save from a penalty and spirits and tempers were high from both sides. But it’s inter-county football, that happens.
“I’d say there was equal involvement from both sides in terms of what happened at half time.
“I think we should leave the players to sort out their own stuff, yes. The manager at the same time…maybe I should send in another official to do it but to be fair to the Galway mentor, he’s obviously passionate about his team too and these things can happen.”
As reported by the Irish Examiner, the GAA's Rule 5, Category IVa covers misconduct by team officials, which is likely the section the incident falls under.
This carries an immediate 12-week ban and two-match suspension, but, crucially, it is to be served in the same competition.
