Galway minors are looking too damn slick with bold shirt, jeans combo at post-match banquet

The post-match banquet looks lit

Niall McIntyre

What a day for the Tribesmen.

Galway left us without a straw to cling to, without even the potential to make an argument against the fact that they are the best hurling county in Ireland, for this year, anyway.

The county had to wait 29 years, but on Sunday they finally bridged the gap, ended the famine, and deservedly so, too.

Winning breeds winning, and the seniors undoubtedly gained a huge psychological lift from the trail blazed by their minor side who defeated Cork to raise the Irish Press Cup.

The present is Galway, the future is Galway and Jeffrey Lynskey’s bunch of minors have all the potential to follow the footsteps of their senior idles.

So many of them impressed in the biggest game they have ever played in their lives to date.

Jack Canning was the star, but so many others did the business too, with captain and corner back Darren Morrissey leading by example. Sean Bleahane and Donal Mannion were truly devestating up top, while Ben Moran and Conor Molloy were similarly class.

These lads have a challenge ahead of them, now, to fulfill their potential, to keep doing what they’re doing and ensure Galway are here to stay, but for now, these lads are celebrating, and deservedly so.

The post-match banquet was taking place in City West Hotel, and you would be hard pressed to find a slicker bunch of young fellas than these victorious Galway minors.

The boys were kitted out well, with a fine pair of brogues setting the tone.

That shirt is almost as good as their performance was.

Fair play to them.
