GAA community rallies behind former Derry player Aaron Devlin who is seriously ill in hospital

Get well soon

Conan Doherty

Aaron Devlin is a GAA player. He is a club man, he’s a lightning attacker but, first and foremost, he’s a gentleman.

The younger brother of Coilin, Aaron is one half of a deadly twin threat for Ballinderry that helped the club win four championships in a row recently and saw the Shamrocks man called into the Derry panel.

This weekend though, football took a back step when, unexpectedly, news came out that Devlin was seriously ill in hospital with what is believed to be a brain virus.

The former Jordanstown student is said to be on life support despite playing a game for his club just during the week.

The GAA family have all rallied behind him though, offering prayers and messages of support to a bright talent and a fine man.

Clubs and players and the whole of the GAA community lined up to offer their thoughts and good will to Devlin. Get well soon, Aaron.
