It’s just sport.
And some things are more important after the 60 minutes than what the scoreboard says.
In GAA especially, the chances are that at some stage, you are going to come up against a friend or colleague who you really like, but are told to hate for the duration of a game.
If you play county, then you are going to battle with people who you share some of the best times of your life with, but must try and hurt, and battle, and beat, in order to win for your side.
But after the full-time whistle, you can put that aside, and do like these two county colleagues in Meath did over the weekend.
Siofra Cleary should have been celebrating her club’s league two success over rivals Summerhill on Sunday.
But instead, the Donaghmore Ashbourne player comforted a distraught county colleague Louise Dunne after the full-time whistle.
