Fans are very happy about the new crisp-looking Meath GAA jersey

There is no truth to the rumours a short-sleeved version is being released.

Meath begin life in Division 2 of the Allianz Football League this weekend and they will take to the field in a brand spanking new jersey, which was revealed last night.

The Royal county face a very, very difficult task in trying to get promotion to the top flight, with five Ulster sides in the mix, as well as Galway and Laois.

It’s not going to be easy for Mick O’Dowd’s side but at least they’ll look nice as the new O’Neills design for their 2016 jersey is much cleaner and simpler than its predecessors.

Mickey Burke was the man chosen to model the new creation last night, which shows off a different lighter shade of green on the main torso of the jersey.

The v-neck is gone too, and the back of the jersey looks much simpler with no swirl design, and the ‘An Mhí’ is underlined near the stars on the back.

Please like and share our new Meath GAA match jersey. Get down to Páirc Tailteann early on Sunday to get your tickets.

We’re big fans, and the general approval for the new top, as modeled by the county star, has been very positive
