That’s just Eoin Murphy for you. What else do you want to know?
Last week in the league semi-final in Wexford Park, he showed one side of his technicolour arsenal – the 110 metre point-scoring trick.
It’s a decent thing to have in the locker alright. It basically means that any time your team wins a foul anywhere on the pitch and Murphy has a bit of a wind behind him, he can do the rest for you. Corner backs drawing frees have never been more valuable.

On Sunday, in Nowlan Park, he went even further to demonstrate why he is so comfortably one of the best number ones in the entire land.
There’s 40 minutes on the clock, Kilkenny have come absolutely hammering out of the blocks.
Walter Walsh has ripped a bloody hole in the roof of the Tipperary net and the Cats have suddenly sprang in front.
Then, however, Bubbles O’Dwyer comes charging through, one point between the sides, and he’s about to restore the Premier county’s supremacy in this tie and, perhaps even, in this era.
Eoin Murphy has different ideas.
WHAT A SAVE! Cúl báire Cill Chainnigh Eoin Murphy.

With one amazing reaction save to his left, the Kilkenny ‘keeper’s outstretched hurl kept the stinging effort at bay and, if that wasn’t enough, he was up and out like a flash to deny the second attempt.
From there, the Cats marched the whole way to glory.
Kilkenny have taken over (and Tipp have stalled) since that save from Eoin Murphy!
