Eoin Bradley returns to Derry panel for 2015 after year on the outside

Glenavon striker is back in county fold

He’s back!

It’s the best news any Derry fan could’ve heard this week – maybe not if you’re from Slaughtneil – but Eoin Bradley has returned to the county squad.

The man they call Skinner played no part in Brian McIver’s 2014 panel that reached the league final in April after he made a bit of a name for himself in the Irish League, banging the goals in for Coleraine.  The Glenullin native has since signed for Glenavon but the Oak Leafers confirmed this morning that their rampant full forward has rejoined the squad.

“Eoin is currently in full training with Derry and will be available for selection from the start of the Allianz National League,” Brian McIver today announced.

It remains to be seen how Bradley will balance playing both soccer and Gaelic Football but he maintained all throughout last year that he could’ve done both and, clearly, an agreement has been reached.

Derry supporters will be relieved at the call-up considering Skinner continued to light up the club championship again in the summer despite playing none for Derry but it might not be such welcome news for Down who experienced twice in 2013 the full mammoth force of a Bradley in top form.  And he will be back again for their visit to Celtic Park for the first round of the Ulster championship.

We could be seeing a lot more of this again this year.
