Dublin footballers provide one of Christmas Day’s soundest gestures

Class acts

One would have forgiven these lads for letting loose over Christmas and revelling in their good fortune after 10+ months of hard work.

Christmas Day found most of us in a perpetual fug. From bleary-eyed awakenings, drinks before mass, extra helpings of turkey and ham and glasses constantly being topped up, it was a day when many of us over-indulged.

The GAA stars? Some of them threw on the trackie tops/Christmas jumpers and made visits to local hospitals to provide some absolutely priceless memories.

Paul Flynn, Michael Darragh MacAuley and Bernard Brogan all paid a morning visit to Temple Street Children’s Hospital and brought along a special guest.

Brogan also made it over to St James’ Hospital with the hard-earned Sam Maguire…

… before getting back to his folks’ house to tuck in.

That certainly does look like a bottle of Lilt!

The Dubs were not the only ones to pay a visit to their local hospital to thank the staff and say hello to the patients unfortunate enough to be in over the holidays.

Top work all round.
