The Dublin senior football team made four changes to their side that defeated Mayo on Saturday in Castlebar.
Dublin named their team just after midday on Saturday, but minutes before throw-in, manager Jim Gavin brought Darren Daly in for Eric Lowndes, Michael Fitzsimons on for Philly McMahon, Dean Rock in for Paddy Andrews and Kevin McManamon on in place of Colm Basquel.

4 changes to the Dublin team mins before the throw in -when is someone going to introduce a rule to cut this nonsense from the game

While the timing of the changes seemed largely unnecessary, the replacements contributed to a four-point victory for Dublin as they once again pipped last year’s All-Ireland finalists.
Goals either side of half-time from Paul Mannion and Niall Scully buried any hopes Mayo had of upsetting their longtime rivals with Jim Gavin now undefeated in 13 games against the westerners.
Mannion was withdrawn in the second-half after taking a knock and was replaced by Michael Darragh MacAuley, while Michael Fitzsimons received a red card after catching Aidan O’Shea in a late challenge in injury time.
