The Donegal County Board have spoken.
Earlier today Jim McGuinness made a few serious allegations about how he and other members of the Donegal side from last year were denied holiday vouchers for their efforts in reaching the 2014 All-Ireland final.
The now Celtic coach explained today that he along with six other people, including Paddy McGrath, could not make the official team holiday in Dubai for a variety of reasons.
He then went on to claim that he had been of the understanding that anyone who didn’t make it on the trip would be entitled to a holiday voucher to the value of the trip, but this week there has been no sign of anything.
The Glenties man used his Irish Times column to highlight a situation he felt was untenable and was hoping to that the Donegal chiefs would respond to his allegations.
And they have done that this evening but it’s unlikely their short statement is going to appease the 2012 All-Ireland winning boss.
“CLG Dhún na nGall wishes to clarify its position regarding the 2014 players and management teams holiday.”
“CLG Dhún na nGall correctly followed all guidelines as issued by Croke Park to Donegal County Committee regarding holidays and are satisfied that the holiday was organised fully in accordance with those guidelines as has been confirmed by Croke Park.”
