The real magic of the GAA.
Kevin Walls is Derry-mad.
He’s a true Gael and he follows his county around the island roaring them on.
After the Cavan game, Derry’s finest result of the season when they went to Breffni Park and booked their place in the last 12 of the All-Ireland, the Desertmartin man got to meet goal hero Emmett McGuckin and, not only that, he took home the full forward’s jersey.
Well, Kevin celebrated his 30th birthday recently and his brother Seán organised for a very special guest to be there.
Yep, Mr Sam Maguire himself got an invite and the result was pure joy. The result was pure magic.
The result really shows you what that piece of silver means.
Derry hands haven’t gotten anywhere near Sam since 1993 but it made its way to Kevin Walls’ party alright.
And, God, wasn’t it just worth the trip?
Well done to everyone who made this happen.
