When you're one of the greats, it is inevitable that there will be naysayers around every corner, and this was the case with David Clifford after Kerry's win over Dublin on the weekend.
Their talisman had a relatively weak game by his standards, but nonetheless finished with 1-5.
The criticism he received mainly centred on his celebrations after scoring his side's final point, which saw him fist pump animatedly in front of the Dublin fans, while also kissing his badge.
Gaelic football and hurling are known for subdued celebrations during the matches, but as was pointed out by many, Clifford had been booed throughout the game by the Sky Blues support.
However, despite the giving out and suggestions of lacking class on Clifford's part, he was shown after the game interacting with a young Dublin fan, offering his time and an autograph.
His brother Paudie was also brilliantly pictured by photographer James Lawlor, having a great laugh with legendary Dubs fan Gerry Gowran, also known as 'Dublin Gerry'.
After the game, man of the match Paudie said: “Dublin won a good few breaks and they got a few slow plays – and in fairness, great scores,” the man of the match told RTÉ.
“We knew what they were capable of and we were probably lucky to get the goal at the time we got it. But thankfully we did and we were able to push on from there.
“We felt we improved in some areas. We probably conceded too much against Tyrone (in the quarter-final). But we still have a lot to improve on for Mayo in two weeks. So we just can’t wait to get back Tuesday night now and get back at it.”

Kerry on verge of losing two of their best talents to AFL
Sad times. According to a report from the Irish Examiner, U20s talents Evan Boyle and Daniel Kirby […]
