Tipperary requested to move the game in the interests of player welfare

Tipperary and Cork’s minor sides played out a thriller in Semple Stadium on Thursday night and couldn’t be separated after extra-time.

Evan Sheehan goaled with a last-gasp 20-metre free to secure the draw for Cork in a pulsating Electric Ireland Munster minor hurling semi-final clash.

The game was tit-for-tat throughout with 90 minutes of hurling unable to produce a winner.

It did, however, look as if Tipperary would emerge victorious when they lead by six points in the early stages of the second half of normal time, but Cork came back and a last minute Robert Downey effort send the sides to extra-time.

Darragh Woods was in top form for Tipperary shooting 1-4, while Ray McCormack, Craig Morgan, Conor Bowe and Jerome Cahill also impressed.

For Cork Brian Turnbull top scored with 0-9 while James Keating lead from the front at centre back.

The game will be replayed on Saturday at 13:00 in Páirc Uí Rinn which is just 39 hours after tonight’s clash.

Tipperary had requested to have the game changed to Monday evening but these requests were rejected by Cork.

The Munster Council were agreeable to a move, however the Cork county board bizarrely said no.
